I was in Lanzarote last November and visited the Salinas a couple of times and saw (my first ever) black winged stilts too.

AMAZING! I have been practicing BIF for quite some time and haven’t really come away with any images I like this weekend I am going to bump my shutter speed to 1000 and keep it there! Everytime I try something different~

That’s an amazing capture. I’ve tried small birds in flight but have had limited success because they are so fast. I tend to set up around a bird feeder and watch their flight patterns. I then prefocus where I think they will be and fire away! This gives me a low success rate but every once in a while it works. My long lens just can’t focus fast enough for these little guys.
