Camera testing continues

Sunday, April 18th, 2010

I am still putting the Canon 1DMK4 through its testing. Recently I have been concentrating on finer detail and static subjects as most of my testing so far has been on birds in flight.

Here is a common Buzzard which I photographed recently in woodland area. In the next few weeks the trees will have much more leaf cover so the available light in the woods will rapidly decrease. The background was fallen oak leaves which I felt complement the birds colouring.

Canon MK4 testing

Sunday, April 11th, 2010

I have recently upgraded my camera to a Canon 1DMK4. Having had a Canon 1D MK3 since 2007, which has never given me any of the widely publicised problems, I was more than happy to make the move. I find that it takes some time to fine tune myself and a new camera so I have been going to familiar sites and taking some “standard” pictures to cement our relationship. I will post some of these test images over the following few weeks.

Here are a pair of Great Crested Grebes, one of the first images recorded on the MK4.  I have been monitoring this couple for several weeks now as they pair up for mating season.
