Photographic award hits the UK papers.

Monday, June 21st, 2010

Last week was a crazy week following a news story hitting the UK press.

I was fortunate to win a Photographic Award from FIAP, an organisation representing photographers worldwide for this image of Camargue Horses. The Daily Mail and Daily Mirror newspapers both covered the story and printed the image in their newspapers on Tuesday 15th June 2010. The story also made the Daily Telegraph on Saturday 19th June 2010 and featured on various websites over the course of the week.

Here is a link to the Daily Telegraph online story.

Since the news broke I have been inundated with an incredible amount of phone and email requests for further interviews and people requesting digital and canvas prints of the image. I would sincerely like to thank everyone who has sent me a message and made enquires about my photographs.

Yellow Wagtail

This is a new species for me, which is always a nice feeling when returning from an outing with the camera.

I have found these birds to be very nervous and well aware of my presence. Each time I tried to edge closer, the birds would simply move onto the next fence post along the path. I tried several times on several different visits without success.

For this image I adopted a “sit and wait” strategy which eventually paid off. Here is an image of the female.
